I completed a 12-week yoga teacher training course at Atlanta Hot Yoga in 2007 (RYS 200). The training focused on the Bikram series, with some variations and modifications, as well as other types of Hatha yoga sequences.
I love yoga because it’s for everyone. It welcomes the marathoner and the couch potato. It can work wonders for the accountant as well as the man on the street. Yoga is all-inclusive, accepting practitioners from all walks of life. It makes us stronger, increases our flexibility, betters our health and is generally a fun activity, but it isn’t limited to physicality. It also invites us to get to know ourselves, and to love ourselves unconditionally, so that we can do the same for all mankind. It sheds light on the dark places in our lives that we try so diligently to ignore, and teaches us acceptance and forgiveness. Yoga can provide fantastic results in so many arenas, as long as we’re receptive and ready to listen.
Along with yoga, I love traveling, writing and playing the piano. I love a good glass of wine, Mexican food, The Office, all sorts of cake and warm sunshine after a cold spell. I enjoy spending time with family and friends, particularly my two best friends, Cali, a West Highland Terrier, and Giggs, an Australian Shepherd/Golden Retriever mix.
